Our Swing Bed Program provides rehabilitation and recovery services based on patient’s individual needs.
Physical Therapy (PT) specializes in the evaluation and treatment of a variety of conditions involving musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and cardiopulmonary systems. Treatment interventions focus on activities including balance, strengthening, and endurance training to improve functional mobility in order to restore function and improve quality of life.
Occupational Therapy (OT) specializes in the evaluation and treatment a variety of conditions involving musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary and orthopedic surgery/injuries. Treatment interventions focus on the following: increasing independence with activities of daily living (getting dressed, grooming, using the bathroom), instrumental activities of daily living (cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc), strengthening, activity tolerance, visual tasks, cognitive tasks, and home safety assessments as appropriate in order to restore function and improve quality of life.
Speech Therapy (ST) specializes in evaluation and treatment of a variety of conditions including neurological insults (CVA, brain injury) or change in mental status. Treatment interventions focus on improving aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, cognitive-communication impairments, voice retraining and swallow dysfunction, including modified barium swallow studies in order to restore function and improve quality of life.
Recreational Therapy (RT) specialize in improving and maintaining physical, cognitive, emotional and social functioning of our patients. They are given the opportunity to explore past, present and new leisure interests during treatment sessions while helping to recover basic motor functioning and reasoning abilities. Recreational Therapists promote social functioning and assist to build confidence through a variety of modalities. Treatment interventisons may incorporate the following: creative arts, animal assisted therapy, sports, horticulture, table games, music and community outings with the highest quality of life as the ultimate goal.
